He was predeceased by his parents, Clarence and Florence (Holland) Decker; sisters and their spouses, Florence (Elgie) Grover, Teresa (Norman) Franklin; his brothers and spouses, Clarence Decker, Wallace (Thelma) Decker and Ted Decker.
Survivors include his wife of 25 years, Donna Decker; his children and their spouses, Terry Decker, James and Rachel Decker, Leon Benjamin, Jr., Kevin and Mitzy Benjamin, Carol and Calvin Pyhtila, Susan and Randy Raupers, Karen and Fred Hayes; numerous grandchildren and greatgrandchildren.
He is also survived by a sister in-law, Alta Decker and several nieces and nephews.
Jimmy was a well-known musician and was inducted into The Statewide Country Music Association, Inc. of New York in 1986.
In honoring Jimmy’s wishes, a celebration of his life will be celebrated on Sunday, March 9, at the Van Etten-Spencer VFW Post 8139, 3496 Wyncoop Creek Road, Van Etten, NY, from 1 to 5 p.m.
Burial will be at the convenience of the family in the Smith Valley Cemetery.
