Lucas Baker Lucas Baker Lucas J. “Luke” Baker, 33, of 4255 SR 267, Meshoppen, PA, passed away unexpectedly early Sunday morning, Feb. 23, 2014 at Tyler Memorial Hospital in Tunkhannock.

Born in Tunkhannock on Oct. 3, 1980, he was the son of Arden C. and Diane L. Kamarauskas Baker. Luke grew up in Auburn Center, just outside of Meshoppen, and was a graduate of the Elk Lake High School, Class of 1999.

After his graduation from high school, Luke served his country with the U.S. Army Reserves, where he was stationed in Iraq for 18 months.

He was a member of the Rought Hall Post 510 American Legion of Black Walnut. In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting and fishing with his family and friends. Luke also enjoyed playing golf and pool, but mostly just enjoyed being surrounded by his two children, his family and his many friends.

Surviving are his mother and father, Diane and Arden Baker of Auburn Center; the mother of his children, Melinda Harvey of Meshoppen; his two children, Landon Cyrus Baker, seven, and Madeline May Baker, four, both of Meshoppen; a brother, Jesse and his wife, Jackie Baker of Hallstead, and a sister, Angela and Jason Youells of Meshoppen; two nephews, Jack and Joe Baker, both of Hallstead, and his two nieces, Jocelyn and Lauren Youells, both of Meshoppen. Luke is also survived by his girlfriend,

Heather Demarest of Montrose, as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins. Preceding Luke in death were his maternal grandparents, Albert and Lottie Kamarauskas and paternal grandparents, Cyrus and Shirley Baker.

Funeral services will be held on Friday afternoon, Feb. 28, at 3 p.m. from the Sheldon Funeral Home, SR6, Meshoppen, with Rev. Timothy Barnett of the New Hope Ministries Church in West Auburn officiating. Interment will be in the Jersey Hill Cemetery in Auburn Center. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 1 p.m. until the time of the service. Military services will be conducted at the funeral home, prior to the funeral services, by members of the Rought Hall Post 510 American Legion of Black Walnut, Dennis Strong Post 457 American Legion of Tunkhannock and the Endless Mountains V.F.W. Post 3583 of Mehoopany.
