Recalling the Winter of 1914
The winter of 1914 was similar to the one we are experiencing today in 2014. The months of February and March were the worst. On Feb. 11, 1914 an earthquake was felt across the county in Sayre. Henry Seiple, a wellknown Lehigh conductor, was sitting in a chair at the Lehigh Depot and stated that his chair was made to rock by the trembling of the earth.
