Mrs. Margaret DePuysselier Walker, 89, passed away on Sunday evening, March 9, 2014 at Memorial Hospital Skilled Nursing Unit, where she had been a resident for over 10 years. Margaret was formerly a resident of Colonial Towers in Towanda.
Born in Margaretville, NY on July 26, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Joseph J. and Louise M. VanDriessche De- Puysselier.
She was a housewife and homemaker for her late husband, Donald Hubert Walker, who passed away on Nov. 22, 2002, and their family of 11 children. Most of her time was spent raising and caring for their children, but in her spare time she enjoyed putting together jigsaw puzzles, as well as being accomplished at doing needlepoint.
Surviving are her three sons, Richard (Joyce) Walker of Towanda, Ronald (Dawn) Walker of Wysox and Joseph Walker of Towanda; six daughters, Rosie Brown of Owego, NY, Bobbi (Weston) Mosier of Rome, Katie (Paul) Brown of Troy, Maryanne (Keith) Mosier of Ulster, Judy (Steve) Rakowski of Towanda, Patty (Ronnie) Johnson of Wysox; 16 grandchildren and numerous greatgrandchildren. She is also survived by a sister, Mrs. Florence Os-born of New York and many nieces and nephews.
Besides her husband and her parents, she was preceded in death by two sons, Johnny Walker (1952) and Jerry Walker (1998); two sisters, Josephine and Emma and a brother, Joseph.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, March 13 at 11 a.m. at St. Mary’s of the Assumption Roman Catholic Church, SR6, Wyalusing, with Father Joseph Manarchuck, of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish, officiating.
Interment will follow at the Camptown Cemetery. There will be no calling hours.
