Spaghetti Dinner Benefit for John Brown of Laceyville, who lost everything in a house fire on March 27. Looking for donations of: Baskets for raffle, auction items, food for dinner (spaghetti, sauce, bread, salad), drinks (water, soda, juice, beer), paper products (cups, plates, napkins, silverware); Bake sale items. Benefit held at 1 p.m. on May 31 at the Meshoppen Rod & Gun Club. Have donations ready by May 28. All-you-can-eat Spaghetti Benefit Dinner. All proceeds go to Annette Hogan, who was in an ATV accident. They will help cover medical expenses on her long road to recovery. Dupont Retirees’ Luncheon will be held on Wednesday, May 14 at 11:30 at the RiverStone Inn in East Towanda.

A Chicken and Biscuit Supper will be held at the Spring Hill Community Church on Saturday, May 17 starting at 4:30 p.m. Adults and Children (12- up) $8; ages 4-11 $4; preschool free. Benefit for Relay for Life “Over the Hill” team.


An exhibit of work by Mansfield artist, Paul Bozzo opened at the Weigh Station Cafe at 1 Washington Street in Towanda and will run for the next six weeks.

Compassionate Friends—of the Endless Mountains will hold their meetings on the second Tuesday of every month at 7 p.m. in the Endless Health Community Center, Montrose. TCF is open to all families who have lost a child from any cause at any age. There are no membership dues or fees of any kind. MOPS—(Mothers of Preschoolers) meet every first and third Wed. of the month from 9 to 11 a.m., September through May. Meetings are held at the First Presbyterian Church, 5 Court St., Towanda. Al-Anon meetings in Tunkhannock—Endless Serenity Al-Anon Family Group on Monday, 7:30 p.m., Wednesday, 7 p.m., Saturday, noon. All meetings are held at the Tunkhannock UM Church Education Bldg., second floor.

Memorial Hospital’s monthly bereavement support group schedule for 2014 will continue to meet on the last Tuesday of each month from 3 to 4:30 p.m., located in the library on the lower level of Memorial Hospital, Towanda. The group follows the book by James Miller, “What Will Help Me?” and other authors’ writings related to grief and loss. The support group is open to those who have experienced loss and is facilitated by Trudy Ventello, LSW, a social worker with Memorial Hospital’s Hospice program. The Wyalusing Senior Citizens will not meet in May. The fire hall is in use that day for voting. Please note the next meeting will be Tuesday, June 17 at 11:30 at the Wyalusing Fire Hall. Members are guests are invited. Mark your calendars.

Rabies Clinics

A rabies clinic will be held at the Wyalusing Valley Volunteer Fire Department on Monday, May 5 from 5 to 6 p.m. Rabies vaccines administered by the Endless Mountains Veterinary Center. $10 per animal. All pets must be in a carrier or on a leash.
