James L. Crawn, Sr., 71, of LeRaysville, PA, passed away Wednesday, April 30, 2014 at his home following declining health. Born in Sayre on Feb. 19, 1943, he was the son of the late Leon and Mamie Woodruff Crawn. James attended Wyalusing High School and was a selfemployed logger and trucker his entire life until his retirement. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He enjoyed vacationing yearly at Fair Haven, NY, fishing, hunting and dirt track racing.
He is survived by his wife, Marie Root Crawn; children, Della Chilson of Wyalusing, James Crawn, Jr. and wife, Dana of LeRaysville, Pete Crawn and wife, Danielle of Windham, Chris Crawn and wife, Melanie of Nichols, NY; grandchildren, Brian Chilson and friend, Daisy, Jamie Thoman and husband, Shawn, Casey Thoman and husband, Josh, Timothy Crawn, Dena Taber and husband, Gus, Michael Crawn, Christian Crawn, Chloe Crawn, Carter Crawn and 10 great- grandchildren.
The funeral service was held Saturday, May 3 at 2 p.m. at the Maryott-Bowen Funeral Home, 217 York Ave., Towanda. The family received friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment was in Stevens Cemetery, Pike Township.
