Nancy J. Walter, 54, of Towanda, PA, formerly of Smith’s Personal Care Home in Wyalusing and Skilled Nursing in Towanda, passed away peacefully at the Skilled Nursing Facility at Memorial Hospital in Towanda on Monday afternoon, June 2, 2014.
Born in Sayre on Oct. 26, 1959, she was the daughter of William, Sr. and Mary (Fassett) Walter of Towanda. Nancy graduated from the Intermediate Unit 17, Towanda Center.
Nancy absolutely adored her nieces and nephews and spent time collecting pictures of her family and friends. She collected TV Guide, Soap Opera Digest, Barbie Dolls and Porcelain Dolls. She also had a Denim Days’ collection.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by her siblings, William H., Jr. (Susan) Walter of Jenningsville, Darlene Ellis (Barry Reese) of Wyalusing, David (Linda) Walter of New Albany, Chris Walter of Wyalusing and Ethel Walter of Wyalusing; special friends, Glen and Jo Anne Brink of Camptown. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. Nancy was preceded in death in 2013 by her brother, Stephen Walter.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 7 at 11 a.m. at the Sheldon Funeral Home, Main St., Laceyville, with Rev. Charles Bishop of the Transue Community Church officiating. Interment will be at the Camptown Cemetery imme-diately following the service. Family and friends may call on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.
