George H. “Fuzzy” McNeal, 80, of Rush Twp., PA, passed away Monday, June 9, 2014 at his home. Born Sept. 28, 1933 in Mehoopany, he was the son of the late George A. and the late Esther (McCarroll) McNeal.
Throughout George’s life, he did many things, including milk hauling, mechanic, bus driver, and truck driver and owned an excavating business. Later on, he retired after 10 years with PennDOT.
He was a member of the Rush United Methodist Church and former member of the Rush Volunteer Fire Company. George loved camping, fishing, tinkering in his garage and, most of all, playing his guitar.
Survivors include his loving wife of 56 years, Norma [Hibbard] McNeal of Rush Twp.; granddaughters, Jamie Shave and John Ahearn of Kingsley, Holly and Nick Thomas of La Pine, OR; grandson, Jeremy and Valerie Kuntz of Wilkes-Barre; brother and sister-in-law, Dewey and Pat Cokely of Wyalusing; sister, Alberta Henning of Wellsboro; step-grandchildren, Ty, Logan, Catherine, Payton and Nevan; nieces, nephews and cousins and his beloved cat, Tuesday.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his daughter and sonin law, Barbara Ann and Paul Newhart and son and daughter-inlaw,
William and Caroline McNeal.
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, June 12 at the Bartron-Myer Funeral Home, Inc., Montrose, with Rev. Richard Spering officiating.
Interment will be held in Rush Center Cemetery.
There will be no calling hours.
