Paul E. “Chief” Rohe, 82, of Rushville, PA passed away, Monday, June 30, 2014 at Robert Packer Hospital, Sayre. Born May 28, 1932 in Sayre, he was the son of the late Clarence S. and Grace (Rohe) Bender. His wife, Emily J. (Hunsinger) Rohe, predeceased him in 2009.
He owned the Rainbow Inn for 44 years.
Paul served in the Navy from 1950 to 1970 and was active in Korea during the Korean War.
He was raised by his grandfather and lived with his aunt and uncle, Alverta and Lawerence Rohe, Sr. and their children, Tom, Bernadine, Catherine, Mary and Lawrence Rohe, Jr.
Survivors include his son, Joel A. Rohe of Rushville; daughters and son-in-law, Karen and Keith Mitchell of Lawton, Kimberly Freeman of South Montrose; grandchildren, Heidi, Cambria, Emilie, Aaron and Nathan; six great-grandchildren; sister, Patricia Kelley; brothers, Paul, Robert, Arthur, Donald, Leslie and Gary Bender.
His brother, Richard Bender, predeceased him.
Interment was held in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.
