Born on July 19, 1948 in Sayre, at the Robert Packer Hospital, she was a daughter of Cora Kithcart Sutton and the late Frederick W. Sutton. She graduated from the Wyalusing Valley High School as a member of the Class of 1967. She married Kerry E. Detrick of Quicks Bend on Aug. 19, 2000. They celebrated their 13th wedding anniversary last year.
Beverly was a homemaker and a loving spouse and mother. She enjoyed crafts, camping and spending time at the river with her friends and family. Bev enjoyed making crafts of all kinds with Kerry and selling them at carnivals, fairs and the Wyalusing Farmers’ Market.
She taught Vacation Bible School. She began taking classes in January at Penn Foster for retail management to further their business of B&K Products.
Surviving are her spouse, Kerry E. Detrick at home; daughter, Amey (John) Johnson of Ulster; mother, Cora Sutton of Warren Center; sister, Barbara (Bruce) Williams of Warren Center; sisters-in-law, Janet (John) Harned of Wyalusing, Cheryl (Jack) Keeney of Browntown, Wanda Sutton of Camptown; brother-inlaw, Rodney Detrick of Quicks Bend; one grandchild, Harley Murphy and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a daughter, Rebecca Brotzman; her father, Frederick W. Sutton and a brother, Frederick G. Sutton.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 26 at 11 a.m. at the Wyalusing Presbyterian Church, Church Street, Wyalusing, with Rev. Dr. Barry R. Ballard officiating.
Friends and family may call at the church from 10 a.m. until the start of the service at 11 a.m.
