Lawrence W. (Banana Man) Salsman, 59, Meshoppen, PA, was called to his maker, unexpectedly, on Wednesday morning, Aug. 20, 2014 at his home in Auburn Twp., Susquehanna Co. He had lost his battle with his longtime illness.
Larry was born at the old Tyler Hospital in Meshoppen, on Dec. 12, 1954, the son of the late Eldon and Bethel Salsman.
He loved spending time with his many friends, loved fishing, listening to music and playing his X-Box. Larry was also an avid Dallas Cowboy fan.
Besides his parents, Larry was also preceded in death by his stepmother, Eleanor Salsman and his sister, Cindy Winters.
He was survived by the love of his life, Beth Bradley of Auburn Twp., Meshoppen; his son, Sean Gassner of Florida; a granddaughter and his siblings; Darrel of Laceyville, Mark and his wife, Tracy of Meshoppen, Trudy of New York, Michelle of Buffalo, NY, Denise of Wyalusing, twin brother, Jerry of PA, Tony of PA and Bradley of Laceyville; his nephew, Jonathan Vogel of Meshoppen; and his best friend, Kathy Visavati of Springville, as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Funeral services were held on Sunday afternoon, Aug. 24 at 3 p.m. from the Sheldon Funeral Home, 8206 SR6, Meshoppen, with Rev. Timothy Barnett of the New Hope Ministries of West Auburn officiating. Interment will be at the convenience of the family at a later date. Family and friends called at the funeral home one hour prior to the time of the service on Sunday afternoon.
