Marion T. Stone Wygrala, 96, of Laceyville, PA, passed away early Saturday morning, Aug. 23, 2014 at the Skilled Nursing Unit of Memorial Hospital in Towanda.
She was born the daughter of the late Floyd and Anna Lott Stone on July 7, 1918 in Bowman Hollow, Forkston Township. Growing up near Mehoopany, Marion was a graduate of Mehoopany High School in 1936. She spent her life as a housewife and homemaker for her late husband, Walter P. Wygrala (Oct. 6, 1981) and children.
She was a member of the Braintrim Baptist Church in Laceyville. Marion enjoyed completing word searches, playing bingo and taking care of flowers in her garden.
Surviving are her son, Dennis and his wife, Beatrice Wygrala of Laceyville; son-inlaw, Eugene “Gene” C. Franklin of Laceyville; grandson, Mark Franklin of Laceyville; greatgrandchildren, MacKenzie Franklin of Laceyville and Brandon Franklin of Laceyville. Also surviving are her sister-inlaw, Gertie Wygrala Farr Caswell of Laceyville; friend, Aaron Manney of Stevensville and nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and husband, Marion is preceded in death by her daughter, Sharon Kay Wygrala Franklin (June 7, 2007); sister, Margaret Cervine and brother, Robert Stone.
A private service was held at the Sheldon Funeral Home, Main Street, Laceyville, on Monday, Aug. 25 at 1 p.m. with her family friend, Pastor Richard Camp, officiating. Interment was in the Lacey Street Cemetery following the private service.
