Wyalusing Student Charged for Bomb Threat

A Wyalusing Valley High School student is facing charges of making terroristic threats and disorderly conduct following an incident that occurred on Wednesday, May 13 at approximately 9:30 a.m.

Police say Donte Jacob Vandyke, 18, New Albany, wrote and presented school officials with a note indicating the high school was going to blow up. The actions of the accused disrupted normal school activities and caused the school to be evacuated via a fire alarm.

Further investigation concluded the threat was a hoax. Vandyke admitted he wrote the note in order to get out of school.

Charges against the teen have been filed through district court.
