Charles Keeney Charles Keeney Charles Wesley "Chuck" Keeney, 55, a lifelong New Albany, PA, resident, passed away on Friday, Dec. 8, 2017, at the Guthrie Robert Packer Hospital, as a result of complications from an automobile accident that occurred a week earlier.

Chuck was born Sept. 11, 1962, a son of the late Wesley and Esther A. Sayman Keeney. He graduated from the Wyalusing Valley High School, a member of the Class of 1980. He worked for HTM Precision Machining in New Albany for 35 years and was currently a machinist at Masco Cabinetry in Sayre. He was also currently serving as an Albany Twp. Supervisor.

For over 25 years, Chuck enjoyed catering for many different events for the New Albany Volunteer Fire Department and various other organizations. He was famous for his BBQ chicken and pig roasts. In his younger years, he was a partner with Dick Hugo in a butcher shop in Evergreen.

He married his best friend and the love of his life, the former Barbara Jean Stanton of Mildred on Nov. 5, 2011.

Chuck enjoyed anything in the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing with his brothers and friends. In years past, he enjoyed umpiring Little League games throughout the area. He enjoyed bowling and playing rings. He was a member of the Sullivan County Ring Toss League and a member of the Holy Name Bowling League.

He had a very strong faith and was a faithful member of St. Basil's Church, Dushore, and regularly attended 7:30 a.m. Mass.

Chuck was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend and will be missed by all who knew him. He was a fun-loving guy and had a laugh that was contagious and his smile would light up the room. Chuck was oneof a-kind. He was a big teddy bear with his loving and giving personality, which drew everyone to him. He was so full of life and would give the shirt off his back to anyone in need. His carefree and laidback personality truly made him oneof a-kind.

Surviving are his spouse, Barbara Jean Keeney at home; son, Eric Keeney of Wysox; four daughters, Lisa (Brett) Szemple of Evergreen, Kathy (Wayne) Johnson of Towanda, Mary White (Peter Gowin) of New Albany, Donna White (Virginia Pearce) of Dushore; two stepchildren, LaRay Gilbert of Dushore, Pat (Clarissa) Yonkin of Dushore; four brothers, Joseph (Mert) Keeney of New Albany, Gary (Sandy) Keeney of Sayre, Michael (Libby) Keeney of Towanda and Ronald (Jenn) Keeney of Troy; aunt, Iona Bidlack of Monroeton; three uncles, Fred Sayman, Jr. of New Albany, Ervin Sayman of Montpelier, VT, and Howard Sayman of Muncy; four brothers-in-law, Ronald (Debra) Stanton of Dushore, Gary (Debbie Pendleton) Stanton of Mildred, Buzz Masteller of East Smithfield and Joe Fitzgerald of New Albany; two sisters-in-law, Judy (James Parkhurst) Travis of Towanda and Joyce (Steven Faulkiner) Rider of Muncy Valley; 17 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, James Keeney; two sisters, Patricia Masteller and Robin Fitzgerald. He was also predeceased by his in-laws, Donald and Alma Stanton.

A Transferal Service was held on Wednesday, Dec. 13 at 10:30 a.m. from the P. Dean Homer Funeral Home, 206 Water Street, Dushore, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at St. Basil's Church, Dushore, with the Rev. Steven J. Brosk presiding. Interment was in St. Basil's Cemetery.

Family and friends called on Tuesday, Dec. 12 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
