Annette Merrow

Annette D. Merrow, 72, of State College passed away Saturday, May 26, 2018 at her home.

Born on Feb. 2, 1946 in Wyalusing, PA, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Harriett Smith Dibble.

She graduated from Lock Haven University in 1968 with a degree in Physical Education and was a member of the field hockey team.

Annette taught Physical Education at McCormick Elementary School in College Park, MD, from 1968 until 1972.

In 1969, she developed a Drug and Alcohol Awareness Program in the Prince Georges County School District that is still being used today.

After moving to State College, she became the owner and instructor of her private business, Maefield Driver Training.

Annette was married to Michael P. Merrow who preceded her in death in 2015.

She was a member of New Hope United Methodist Church.

Annette enjoyed gardening and cherished the time she spent with her grandchildren.

Surviving are her daughter, Elizabeth “Betzi” (Jason) Dreibelbis of Bellefonte; her sister, Cathy (David) Keeney of Wyalusing, and three grandchildren, Jason, Jr., Madison and Payton.

A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, June 3 at 1:30 p.m. at New Hope United Methodist Church, Zion, with Pastor Robert Dornan officiating.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Donald G. Walker Funeral Home, Inc., 231 High Street, Flemington.
