Born on March 7, 1935 to Val D. and Tiny Lorraine (Teague) Taber in Martinez, CA, Lorraine spent most of her younger years growing up in Modesto, CA, and spent some time in San Francisco, CA, and Reno, NV, before settling in Las Vegas, where she lived for 35 years.

Lorraine spent her years in Las Vegas working for Sprint telephone company. It was in Vegas that she met Bobbi Keeler Lord. Bobbi brought Lorraine to her home in Wyalusing for a visit. In 1996, when Lorraine retired from Sprint, she moved to Wyalusing and became a beloved member of the community. Her first year in Wyalusing, Lorraine worked with Bobbi’s sister, Sherri Keeler Schreier at her shop, Keeler’s Clothier. Later, when Keeler’s Clothier closed, Lorraine worked with Bobbi and Sherri in their shop, Brewed Awakening and PerNickety Gifts. She also worked for several years at Westover’s Florist.

During her 22 years living in Wyalusing, Lorraine was a member of the Greater Wyalusing Chamber of Commerce and the Wyalusing Rainbow Club. She served as treasurer of both those organizations for many years. Lorraine also served for some time as the Wyalusing Borough Electoral Judge. Her hobby and passion was flowers. Her flower beds and gardens occupied her time throughout the spring and summer and into the fall. It’s while working in her flower beds that Lorraine met and talked with so many of her neighbors.

She is remembered as a loving, kind and giving person. In the winter months, Lorraine filled her time with “coloring books” and has left a bounty of beautiful pictures she completed.

She is survived by her niece, Kimberly Carrico; her great nephew, Scott Chance Carrico and his wife, Areceli; nephews, Mike, Jerry, Jack and Marcus Carrico and great-niece, Brandy, daughter of Mike Carrico.
