Benefit for Grace Connection, the “Sweet Sounds Café” will be held on Sunday, Feb. 17 from 2-4 p.m. at the Wysox Presbyterian Church. Area musicians will provide the sweet sounds, and an abundance of sweet and savory snacks will complete the café ambiance. The Towanda Area Clergy Association, sponsors of the event, invite everyone to come and support Grace Connection with a goodwill offering.

CHURCH

John Metzger, Hebrew scholar with Ariel Ministries, will be speaking at the Evergreen Christian Church, New Albany, on Feb. 10 at the 10 and 11 a.m. services as well as at 2 p.m. His topics will cover “Who Brings in the Kingdom,” “The Place of Israel in Prophecy” and “Passages the Rabbis Avoid.” A warm welcome is extended to all to attend.

CLASSES

Wyalusing Area Friends of the Arts will be presenting a class with Dennis Kochenash on Saturday, Feb. 23 at the Wyalusing Community Corp building in the TW Room from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Dennis will be teaching the ancient art of Pysanky which are colorful and intricately decorated eggs. Representatives from the Apprise program are available year-round at the B/S/S/T Area Agency on Aging, Inc. office in Towanda to counsel individuals regarding Medicare, Medicaid, Advantage Plans, Medigap/Supplement, prescription plans, PA PACE program, numerous medical insurance and prescription drug eligibility programs and assistance with the completion of various medical forms and applications. The Northeast Ag & Home Ec 4-H Club will meet on Thursday, Feb. 7 at 7 p.m. in the Warren Center Community Building. The Intellectual Disabilities Proclamation will be held on Friday, March 8 at 11 a.m. at the Towanda courthouse and on Tuesday, March 12 at 10 a.m. at the Sullivan County courthouse. The county commissioners will present the proclamation and then it will be read. Please come and show support for Intellectual Disabilities Awareness month.

Anyone taking care of a family member or loved one, be it at home or as a resident of a longterm care facility are welcome.
