Annual Barbershop Concert Set for April 30

The Endless Mountains Barbershop Chorus will host its 33rd annual concert on Saturday, April 30 at the Tunkhannock High School Auditorium at 7 p.m. This year’s show is called “Girls, Girls, Girls.” Special guests at this year’s show will be the Wyalusing Valley High School Jazz Chorus. Featured entertainers include Chordial Connection, Four For Him and Endless Harmony. Chordial Connection is based in West Pittston, PA. The group formed in 1996 for the fun and excitement of performing songs in barbershop style. The quartet is registered with the Tunkhannock Barbershop Harmony Society and collectively has over 150 years of singing experience. Each member has a fondness for gospel songs and hymns, in addition to a broad repertoire of barbershop favorites. The group consists of Ty Williams, the tenor, a retired U.S. Air Force officer; Bill Shaffer, the lead singer and a distribution specialist at the Philips Lighting Plant in Mountain Top, PA; Lou Volpetti, the baritone, a retired Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board employee, and Marty Wise, the bass, a computer programmer at Wilkes-Barre Integrated Business Systems Solution Center. The pre-show by Rick Pedro begins at 7 p.m. Tickets are available from chorus members and at the door.
