Area Road Work Scheduled
Milan Road Widening and Reconstruction Project Starts June 13
A PennDOT contractor will begin a $2.3 million widening and reconstruction project along a 1.9-mile section of State Route 4014 (Milan Road) in Smithfield Township, Bradford.
Starting June 13, through traffic will be detoured from the intersection with Laurel Hill Road and the bridge over Bucks Creek, about one-half mile west of Bluebird Road. Local traffic will be allowed access to their properties within the work zone area. Through traffic will be detoured via Laurel Hill Road. The detour for through traffic will begin June 20.
The drainage will be upgraded throughout the project by replacing existing cross pipes and adding several additional cross pipes.
Motorists are asked to plan their travels accordingly.
All work under this contract is scheduled for a late October completion.
Resurfacing Projects on Lower Mountain Road and Echo Beach
Resurfacing and roadway repairs are scheduled on two state routes in Bradford County starting next week, June 13.
Resurfacing and repairs will begin along State Route 3016 (Lower Mountain Road) in Armenia and Canton townships, where the work includes repair of eroded roadway shoulders and embankments, drainage improvements, rocklining of ditches for erosion protection and roadway resurfacing. This work will take place along the 1.9-mile length of Lower Mountain Road, from the Tioga County line to Route 14.
Work will follow on the entire 2.5-mile length of State Route 2023 (Echo Beach Road) in Asylum Township, where drainage improvements and resurfacing will take place.
Traffic will be restricted to a single lane through the work zone during daylight hours with traffic flow directed by flag persons.
This $934,000 contract is scheduled for completion by the end of July.
