The school district encourages everyone to attend the Surplus Auction on Nov. 5 at 10 a.m. at Wyalusing Elementary School (old site). The items being sold are from Camptown, Laceyville, New Albany, Wyalusing and Wyalusing High School. We are pleased to have Shamrock Auction Company conducting this sale and a detailed listing of items is posted on their website. There are tables, chairs, student desks, file cabinets, shop tools, shop hardware, a scroll saw, sewing machines, dental hygienist chairs, freezers and many other treasures. All items will be sold to the highest bidder. Food will be available for purchase from the WVHS Band Boosters Organization.
Students will be dismissed early on Nov. 10 and Nov. 23. WVES will dismiss at 11:45 a.m. and WVHS will dismiss at noon. Parent-Teacher Conferences will be held on Nov. 10 from 12:30 to 8 p.m. Contact your child’s school or teacher for an appointment. All parents/guardians are encouraged to meet with teachers during this time.
Kudos to everyone who has helped the traffic flow smoothly at the Max Gannon campus in the mornings and afternoons. Using the entrance near the bridge, dropping high school students off near the old gym, maintaining a speed of 15 mph or less, and being extra vigilant has improved the safety for everyone. Kudos to our students, parents, bus drivers and van drivers for their flexibility as bus pickup/drop-off times have needed to be adjusted to accommodate additional stops or route changes due to road closures or detours.
Parents/guardians should have received report cards from students in Grades 7-12 by now and the elementary grading period ends the second week of November. Your help with student attendance, homework completion and encouragement of your child is really appreciated by your child’s teachers and beneficial to your child.
Kudos to each of the fall sports teams and their excellent representation of the district. Kudos also to all the volunteers and fans who have supported the teams.
