Karaoke Contest Part of Towanda's Riverfest

Riverfest 2004 committee recently announced that a Karaoke Contest is planned for Thursday night, Aug. 26, starting at 7 p.m. on River Street, behind the Bradford County Courthouse. This is an opportunity for local singers to step-up and showcase their skills and talents and take part in this year's event. DJ Bob Brenner of Country Connection will be hosting the event and reminds interested singers they must register early to insure a spot in the contest, as no guaranteed slots will be available for walk-ons. To register for the contest, a sign-up book has been placed at Sam Goody's in Wysox, and interested contestants are asked to stop in, look over the song list and make a selection.

Contestants that have their own Karaoke CDG are still required to register and write in the song they plan to sing the night of the contest. Categories for the contest will be 12 years and under, 13 to 17, 18 and older Male/Female and Duos (one entry only for this category). There are no sign-up fees, but deadline for signing up for the contest will be Thursday, Aug. 19.

We invite all to come and listen to the entertainment, if additional information is needed, call 265-6791.
