PennDOT Names New Bradford Maintenance Manager
Thorne is currently serving as an assistant county maintenance manager in the Susquehanna/-Wyoming County Maintenance Organization in Engineering District 4-0, a post he has held since 1999. Prior to that, he served as the roadway programs coordinator in the Susquehanna County Maintenance Organization in Engineering District 4-0. He has been with PENNDOT since 1985.
As the new Bradford County chief, he will oversee 902 miles of state-owned highways, 517 state bridges and 130 permanent employees and various temporary employees.
Bob Thorne, a 19-year PENNDOT employee, lives in Tunkhannock with his wife, Maria. They have a son, BJ and a daughter, Marile.
Thorne succeeds Dave DeLosa, who retired from the post earlier this year.
