Ribbon Cutting Officially Opens New Hotel
By David Keeler
Two-year-old Harsh Patel snipped the ribbon Tuesday officially opening his family’s Best Western hotel in North Towanda.
The ribbon cutting ceremony was organized by the Central Bradford County Chamber of Commerce and well attended by members of the business community, elected officials and others.
The three story 65-room complex is already booked solid, according to manager Debbie Babcock.
Babcock said the hotel’s original design called for a fourth floor and that may be added someday, especially if demand for rooms continues to increase.
There is also space for a restaurant facility at the front of the hotel complex, Babcock said, noting that attempts are underway to locate a restaurant there that would be operated independently from the hotel.
Best Western’s Towanda Inn features an indoor heated pool, fitness center, business center, guest laundry and meeting room with a capacity for approximately 45 people.
Those taking part in Tuesday’s ribbon cutting enjoyed a complimentary luncheon.
