Route 220 Bridge Repairs North of New Albany Start April 18; Four-Week Lane Restriction Planned
On Monday, April 18 a PennDOT maintenance crew in Bradford County will set up a lane restriction for bridge repairs on Route 220, 1.25 miles north of New Albany Borough.
During the work, temporary traffic signals will be used to regulate traffic flow through the work zone.
In anticipation of the traffic restriction, the temporary traffic signals were set up and placed in flashing yellow mode on Monday, April 14. No long-term restrictions will be implemented until April 20, although other daylight maintenance activities may be scheduled during the week in the project area.
A 10’ wide lane will be available across the bridge being repaired. Concrete barriers will be used to protect motorists from the work being done in the southbound lane.
The PennDOT bridge crew will make concrete repairs to one of the abutments and a wing wall at the bridge over Towanda Creek near Stevensville.
The lane restriction will be in place full-time until the repair work is completed. The repair work is expected to take four weeks to complete.
Questions or concerns may be directed to the Bradford County Maintenance District in Towanda at 570-265-2181.
