Saturday's Chamber Auction Promises Winter Reprieve

Times flies when you're having fun, bidding for good stuff and supporting your community. This Saturday, March 12, will be the 19th year of the Chamber Auction and Dinner sponsored by the Greater Wyalusing Chamber of Commerce (GWCC).

This year's event, billed as "Nacho" Usual Auction/Dinner, will have a Fiesta theme. It will be held in the Tuscarora Wayne Community Room of the Chamber Building at 20 Main Street in Wyalusing.

Auctioneering services will once again be donated by Jerry and Gail Burke and the gang at Shamrock Auctions. Youngest son, Patrick, won both the Pennsylvania and New York bid calling titles this past year. And you might want to congratulate Jerry for being named "Auctioneer of the Year" in Northeast Pennsylvania.

Doors will open at 5 p.m., with the silent auctions beginning at 5:30. Dinner, provided by the Wyalusing Hotel, is served at 7 p.m. As appropriate to the theme, the menu will have a southwestern flavor.

Tickets are $20 a person and you can still buy them at the GWCC office, the Grovedale Winery, the Rocket-Courier office, Peoples State Bank and the Wyalusing and Laceyville branches of First Liberty Bank & Trust.

For more information, call the Chamber Office at 570-746-4922.
