Wyalusing Lioness Hosting Blood Drive Sept 7

On Tuesday, Sept. 7 the Wyalusing Lioness Club will sponsor a blood drive at the Wyalusing Fire Hall. The hours for the drive are from 12 noon to 6 p.m.

Each donor will receive at registration, a complimentary coupon good for up to four children (ages 14 and under) to the Alain Zerbini Circus on Sept. 10, evening shows at Athens Recreation Field. The circus is sponsored by the Sayre-Athens Lions Club. All participants will also receive a free American Red Cross t-shirt for their support.

You may donate blood in honor of someone or in memory of someone dear to you. Cards are available showing that your blood donation was given in honor of that person or in memory of someone's loved one. You may either choose to mail the card yourself or we will mail it for you (please bring the address of the person receiving the card with you).

You must be at least 17 years of age, weigh no less than 105 pounds and be in good health to donate. If you have any medical questions, please contact 1-800-432-8045.

It's always difficult to collect enough blood to meet the needs of hospital patients, but it's even more of a challenge during the summer months. With family vacations, school closings and long holiday weekends, the blood supply has reached critically low levels nationwide.
