Wyalusing Serviceman Honored for Valor in Iraq

Staff Sgt. Ben Chamberlin of Wyalusing, who is assigned to Company B, 2-103 rd Armor in Iraq, was presented a commendation medal for valor relating to hostile action Chamberlin's unit faced earlier this year.

Along with Chamberlin, Sgt. John Hosey of West Wyoming was singled out for meritorious service during combat action near Baghdad.

Sgts. Chamberlin and Hosey earned the distinction on Easter Sunday when their convoy was attacked by anti-coalition forces south of Baghdad.

Their display of professionalism, courage and composure when reacting to the enemy attack was seen as being directly responsible for saving the lives of several fellow soldiers and civilian contractors.

Company B, 2-103rd Armor is one of seven 28th Division units currently deployed in Iraq.
