Wyalusing To Be Well-Represented At Program
Wyalusing Valley High School students Amber Kinney, Sarah Paddock and Cathryn Pugh will represent the area at the Outstanding Young Woman program planned for Saturday evening, Sept. 24, at Towanda Junior/Senior High School.
Amber is the daughter of Belinda-Jo and Frank Kinney. She is involved with her school as a member of the Student Council, Senior Chorus and Science Olympiad. Having a strong interest in the art of dance, Amber performs in the area of tap, ballet, jazz, hip-hop and Irish step dancing. She currently is a hip-hop dance instructor, as well as a Piloxing and Zumba instructor. Most recently, she has become involved with the West Side Stars Competitive Cheer Squad. She is the Cheer captain of the varsity football team. Kinney will be performing a dance to “The Beautiful People” by Christina Aguilera. Her interest in dance instruction/personal training hopes to lead her to the University of Miami.
Sarah Paddock is the daughter of Dean and Norma Paddock. Athletically inclined, she is a cheerleader for both football and basketball. She shows her leadership skills as the captain of the basketball cheerleaders. Furthering her leadership activities, Sarah has attended the Cornell University Leadership Council summer college. Recently, she became a member of the KSA Competition cheerleading organization. A consistent member of the Honor Roll, Paddock plans to attend Cornell University for a Pre-Med concentration. She is an avid volunteer for Guthrie Clinics VolunTEEN program. She will perform a hip-hop dance to Jennifer Lopez featuring Pitbull “On the Floor.”
Cathryn Pugh is the daughter of Jonathon and Dawn Pugh. She will be representing Wyalusing Valley High School. Athletically, she is a member of her school soccer and softball teams. Musically inclined, she is a past and present member of marching band, concert band, orchestra, chorus and High Wire Choir. She holds leadership positions as the section leader of the marching band; the vice-president of the concert band; and first chair of the orchestra. She is a member of the National Honor Society and has achieved Honor roll status. She has served as a HOBY Leadership Ambassador. Cathryn hopes to attend the University of Pittsburgh with a career goal of becoming a Neuroscientist. Showing her skills as a violinist, Pugh will be performing “Bourree” by J.S. Bach.
