Fred Wheaton, Wysox

     William Claude Oliver, 18, Towanda, faces prosecution for DUI, underage drinking and driving and illegal purchase, consumption and transport of alcoholic beverages while being under the age of 21. The alleged offenses occurred on Rt. 6 at Rt. 187 in Wysox Township on Aug. 3 at 12:20 a.m. His BAC was reported at .10. He was also cited for careless driving. His preliminary hearing date is Sept. 29.

     Derek Steven Winters, 26, New Albany RR 1, faces prosecution for DUI for alleged offenses on Aug. 8 at 3:56 a.m. at the Wysox Boat Launch area off Rt. 187 in Wysox Township. His BAC was reported at .13. It is alleged that Winters was in possession of a vehicle, of which he admitted to being the driver, while under the influence of alcohol. His preliminary hearing date is Sept. 15.

     John Daniel Sharts, 42, Sugar Run RR 1, faces prosecution for DUI for alleged offenses on July 13 at 10:30 p.m. on Rt. 2110 in Terry Township. Charges were filed pursuant to a motor vehicle accident in which Sharts was the driver, and he refused a blood-alcohol test but exhibited signs of intoxication, according to the arresting state trooper. It was also reported he failed a field sobriety test and that there was an open container of beer in the cup holder of his vehicle. He was also cited for operating a vehicle without the required financial responsibility (insurance) and careless driving. His preliminary hearing date is Sept. 29.

     Kelly D. Walsh, 36, Towanda, faces prosecution for DUI for alleged offenses on Rt. 6 in Wysox Township. Her BAC was reported at .15. She was also cited for driving with a suspended license, driving without a current certificate of inspection, careless driving and failing to use hazard signals on a vehicle disabled on a public highway. Her preliminary hearing date is Sept. 29.
