Brandon Michael Davis, 23, Towanda RR3, faces charges of driving under the influence of a controlled substance, as well as possession of drug paraphernalia and a small amount of marijuana after he was found at the Wysox public boat launch afterhours. Police reported that at about 9:42 p.m. on May 10, Davis was sitting in his car at the boat launch and allegedly began rummaging through the vehicle as the patrol car approached him. After a less than satisfactory performance on field sobriety tests, Davis was searched and the officer found the bag of pot. A subsequent search of the vehicle yielded a pill crusher with white powder on it. Results of a drug test conducted that evening at Towanda Memorial Hospital indicated unacceptable levels of Hydrocodone and THC in Davis’s blood stream. His preliminary hearing is set for July 27.
Abel Aguinaga, 31, Wyalusing, faces charges of DUI and crossing the center lines of the highway after being stopped by police near the intersection of Routes 6 and 187 at about 12:15 a.m. on May 29. Police first observed Aguinaga driving on rumble strips in the area of River Road, east of Wysox, and followed him into the village. The defendant allegedly failed field sobriety tests and was taken to Towanda Memorial Hospital, where he reportedly consented to a chemical test, which revealed a BAC of .132.
