It is alleged that Briggs contacted a confidential informant to arrange the sale on two occasions and that both of these transactions involved Oxycontin pills. Briggs was arrested at his residence on a warrant served by the United States Marshals Service. His preliminary hearing date was tentatively set for March 8. He was remanded to the Bradford County Correctional Facility in lieu of $100,000 bail.
Shane Ian Furman, 22, Wysox RR 2, faces prosecution for robbery by force, theft, simple assault, disorderly conduct and harassment for alleged offenses on Friday, Feb. 18, at 9:57 p.m. in Sayre Borough. It is alleged that Furman assaulted a 16-year-old male victim, knocking him unconscious and stealing the victim's Reebok shoe valued at $100, as well as breaking a gold necklace valued at $58, The victim sustained observable injuries, including a cut on his chin and swelling over his right eye, as well as damage to his rib cage. He was arraigned on March 1 in lieu of $25,000 bail.
Heather Marie Miner, 23, Sayre, faces prosecution for DUI and failure to give information and render aid at the scene of an accident for alleged offenses on Jan. 8 at 6:30 p.m. Her BAC was reported at .13. It is alleged that she struck a parked car and damaged a front porch, then drove away from the scene. Her preliminary hearing date is April 5.
