It is alleged that Platt arranged to sell 10 packets of heroin for $180 to a confidential informant who alerted state police prior to the alleged transaction. His preliminary hearing date is April 5.
Casey Ryan Seymour, 19, Sayre, faces prosecution for sexual abuse of children, a first-degree felony, for alleged offenses on Sunday, March 27, at 12:21 a.m. in Sayre Borough. It is alleged that Seymour had moved out of an apartment, leaving a flash drive behind with pornographic images of what appeared to be young girls as young as six and eight years of age naked, as well as numerous stories about sexual acts involving children. Seymour subsequently told police that he pulled images off websites. His preliminary hearing date is April 5.
Marcus James Campbell, 27, Waverly, NY, faces prosecution for burglary, criminal trespass, theft and forgery for alleged offenses on or about the afternoon of March 24 at a residence in Sayre Borough. It is alleged that Campbell burglarized an apartment by breaking into it and was later attempting to cash a check removed from that apartment in the amount of $300. It was subsequently discovered that other money was removed from that location, as well as a rent check that has been inside the apartment. His preliminary hearing date is April 5.
William P. Firestine, Jr., 24, Athens, faces prosecution for defiant trespass for alleged offenses on Sunday, March 20, at 10:17 p.m. at an apartment complex in Athens Borough when he allegedly hid in an apartment there after being ordered by a uniformed officer of the Athens Borough Police to stay off the premises. His preliminary hearing date is April 19.
James Joseph John Harvey, 24, Athens, faces prosecution for simple assault and harassment for alleged offenses on Friday, March 25, at 2:51 p.m. at a residence in Athens Borough. It is alleged that Harvey assaulted and caused bodily injury to a female victim, striking her several times about the head. Injury was reported to her right eye and right cheek. His preliminary hearing date is April 5.
Kevin Charles Shipman, 22, Waverly, NY, faces prosecution for possession of heroin and possession of drug paraphernalia (hypodermic needles and empty baggies with heroin residue) for alleged offenses on Tuesday, March 1, at 4:52 p.m. in Sayre Borough. Sayre Borough Police pulled over a van driven by Shipman because there was not a visible license plate. After Shipman pulled into a parking lot on Spring Street, the patrolman noticed a lot of movement by Shipman inside his vehicle. The cap of a hypodermic vehicle was observed in his pocket, which led to a consent search revealing two baggies of suspected heroin on his person and seven empty baggies. His preliminary hearing date is April 29.
Riffat A. Qureshi, 36, Sayre, faces prosecution for making false reports to law enforcement for alleged offenses on Feb. 19 at 10:53 p.m. in Sayre Borough. It is alleged that she falsely reported that a male relative had committed a crime during a domestic investigation.
Eric Todd Carlyle, 21, Gillett, faces prosecution for DUI and summary traffic violations for alleged offenses on Monday, Feb. 14, at 12:03 a.m. on South Main Street in Athens Borough. After being administered, and subsequently failing, field sobriety tests it was determined that Carlyle was under the influence of synthetic cannabis (hemp drug) and he was arrested for DUI. He was also cited for leaving a vehicle standing in the roadway, operating a vehicle with an outdated inspection sticker and illegal sun screening on windows. His preliminary hearing date is April 19.
Roy Haynes, 54, Franklin, LA, faces prosecution for DUI and d riving on the wrong side of the road for alleged offenses on Saturday, March 12, at 7:34 p.m. at the Wilawana Dandy Mini Mart. His BAC was reported at .25—more than three times the level regarded as intoxicated by law. His preliminary hearing date is April 26.
Leroy Plouse, III, 39, Sayre, faces prosecution for DUI, failure to immediately report an accident and driving on the wrong side of the road for alleged offenses on Saturday, March 12, at 9:19 p.m. His BAC was reported at .13. Charges were filed subsequent to a motor vehicle accident where the accused fled the scene on foot and was located at a later time. His preliminary hearing date is April 26.
Shawn M. Buiniskis, 35, Waverly, NY, faces prosecution for DUI, speeding (50 in a 25 zone) and careless driving for alleged offenses on Saturday, Nov. 20, 2010, at 2:27 a.m. on Desmond Street in Sayre. His BAC was reported at .11. BAC results were not confirmed from the lab until March 18.
Freeman E. Stephens, Jr., 32, Sayre, faces prosecution for writing a bad check in the amount of $258.75 to Moore's Automotive in Sayre on Aug. 24, 2010. His preliminary hearing date is April 29.
Michael E. LaPlant, 34, Athens, faces prosecution for writing a bad check to Mattison's Bucket Service in Athens in the amount of $318. The check was written on Nov. 3, 2010. His preliminary hearing date is April 29.
