Richard Allan Lane, 32, Waverly, NY, faces charges for possession of controlled substances and prohibitive weaponry, as well as for public drunkenness from an incident dated Oct. 5 at about 9:45 p.m. Sayre police were dispatched to the 100 block of Madison Street on a call about a “suspicious male,” whom they saw running from Chacona Lane across Madison Street. When approached by police, Lane reportedly told the officers that he was being chased by people who were going to kill him. The patrolmen suspected that Lane had consumed bath salts, which, in addition to heroin, were found in several vials and clear baggies on his person. Police allege that Lane also had a black Master Cutlery five-point throwing star in his rear pocket. His preliminary hearing was set for Oct. 11.
Catherine Michelle Meshell, 40, Palestine, TX, faces charges of DUI after she drove through a fence and came to rest in a yard along Route 220 in Athens Township at about 11:15 p.m. on Oct. 6. Meshelle allegedly admitted to having had “one drink,” but was arrested after failing field sobriety tests. Her BAC was not included in the report. She faces a preliminary hearing on Oct. 18.
