Janet Marie Cobb, 24, Towanda, faces charges for highest-rate DUI, related driving offenses, and possession of drug paraphernalia from an incident dated April 15 at 11:20 p.m. The reporting officer alleges that Cobb crossed the yellow lines at least twice as she drove toward him on York Avenue in Towanda. After she passed him, he turned around and followed her vehicle into the Towanda Motel parking lot where he approached her after turning on his emergency lights. The officer asked Cobb to step out of the vehicle and alleges that she was having trouble maintaining her balance. After failing field sobriety tests, Cobb is reported to have permitted the officer to remove a glass pipe that she had admitted was in her purse. She was placed under arrest and taken to Towanda Memorial Hospital where a blood test produced a BAC of .219. She also submitted to a blood test for presence of chemicals in her system. Cobb faces a May 25 preliminary hearing.
