Duke Holden Russell, 24, Canton, faces charges for disorderly conduct for alleged defiance during a Nov. 16 preliminary hearing for a prior incident. After declaring himself a “sovereign citizen” and stating that he did not recognize the proceedings that were underway, Russell reportedly started to walk out of the door of the courtroom and had to be detained and cuffed for the hearing to continue. A hearing for the new charges against Russell has been scheduled for Jan 11.
Ralph Edward Hadlock, 51, Ulster, faces charges for simple assault and harassment after he reportedly started a fight with Michael Kinney in the parking lot of the Dandy Mini Mart in Ulster at about 6:10 p.m. on Sept. 25. Police interviewed both Hadlock and Kinney, observing slight injuries to Hadlock’s face and multiple scratches and bruises on Kinney’s face and neck. Video surveillance from the store allegedly indicates that Hadlock threw the first punch and continued to be the aggressor throughout the fight. A preliminary hearing has been set for Jan. 4.
Jason Jeremy Larouche, 35, Sayre, faces charges for forgery, stemming from an incident dated April 5, when Larouche allegedly cashed a paycheck issued to Jason Page, 28, Milan, who had been incarcerated at the Bradford County Correctional Facility, and giving the money to someone who claimed to be Page’s girlfriend. The situation is complicated, but police report that Page’s mother and Page had issued specific instructions to prevent the funds from falling into the hands of Page’s ex-girlfriend, Kerri Churchman. Nonetheless, Larouche, a friend of Page, was apparently able to secure the paycheck, sign his name to it, and cash it at First Liberty Bank in Towanda, which he claimed he had been instructed to do by Page. Larouche then gave the money to Churchman, telling police that he had been unaware of the change of plans. His preliminary hearing was set for Dec. 7.
