The 34th annual commencement was held at Wyalusing Valley High School and awarded 115 degrees to seniors at a ceremony held at the football field.
Sixteen finalists and two alternates were selected for the 1981-82 Bradford-Sullivan Counties Junior Miss program to be held in October. Representing Wyalusing Valley High School are Charlene Lacey and Denise Wilson.
John Spencer of Silvara recently opened a used furniture business in a portion of the Millard Tastee-Freez building in East Wyalusing.
The Wyalusing Presbyterian Church has a new minister. The Rev. Stephen W. Starzer preached his first sermon on Sunday and was later ordained in his father’s church in Carbondale.
Eric Kothstein, son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Kothstein of Sugar Run, has been chosen to attend the Governor’s school at Bucknell University.
New owners at Creekside Market are Dan and Barb Santos. They purchased the market from Dennis and Mary Beth Carter. The Carters have owned the market since 1977.
