Miss Pennsylvania, Jill Ann Shaffer of York, PA, will lead the Wyalusing Firemen’s Parade on Aug. 12 to open the annual carnival.
Tuesday night’s electrical storm proved fatal for eight Hereford cattle owned by Sugar Run residents, Dan and Ed Franklin.

A mystery marker, hand sculpted to commemorate the Civil War service of “Billy” Bunt, was found in Stevensville by Walter Bates and David Beaumont, Summer Youth Corps member.
Laceyville Third Grade 1962Here’s a look at the Laceyville Elementary School third grade during the first year that the school was open, 1962. Ironically the school closed in June and next week the students seen in this photo will be marking the 40th anniversary of their high school graduation as members of the WVHS Class of 1971. The class will reunite on August 13 at the Chamber of Commerce Building in Wyalusing and will tour the community’s new elementary school at 3 p.m. and visit the Pickering Winery later in the day.
