News items of timely interest gathered from the old files of The WYALUSING ROCKET and reprinted as they were on Oct. 29, 1966 and 1971.

1966

A huge dryer destined for the new Charmin plant at Mehoopany will be moved up the railroad tracks next week. The tracks will need relocating in some areas and a special railroad car has been constructed.

The Spring Hill young adult group is having their annual hospital benefit supper on Nov. 19.

1971

Abbie Stevens was crowned Homecoming Queen at Wyalusing Valley High School.

More than 300 bowlers participated in a Bowl Down Heart Tournament at Mountainside Lanes. Laura Loyack and Harold Cobb co-chaired the event.

 


 Wyalusing’s Girl Scout CabinHere’s a look at a cabin built for use by Wyalusing Girls Scouts in a photo snapped sometime in the 1930’s. The cabin was located in a wooded area not far from the Wyalusing Rocks overlook. It became neglected over the years and fell into a state of disrepair.
