News of timely interest gathered from the old files of the WYALUSING ROCKET and reprinted as they were in the Dec. 10, 1981 issue.

Christine Keeney of Second St., Wyalusing recently passed the American Association of Critical Care Nurses Certification. She joined the staff at Sayre’s Robert Packer Hospital in 1978 as a nurse in the ICU/CCU.

Master Sgt. Henry Fassett, son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Fassett of RR1, Wyalusing, has been decorated with the fourth award of the Air Force Commendation Medal at Griffis AFB, NY.

Members of the WVHS Swing Flags and majorette squads came home with a number of awards after taking part in two competitions in Chenango Valley and Williamsport.

The Wyalusing Borough Police Department will be the first in Bradford County to be using a VASCAR.

Bishop J. Carroll McCormick will be celebrating mass in the newly-renovated St. Mary’s Church on Saturday, Dec. 19.

Larry Franklin of Laceyville takes office as Region III school board member.
