He Sees Silence as Enemy of Unborn

He Sees Silence as

Enemy of Unborn

Editor:

We in the pro-life movement have been raising our voices and writing letters to alert our nation to the horror of abortion and the long-term sorrow and guilt of the second victim—the mother.

"But if the watchman sees the sword coming and does not blow the trumpet, so that the people are not warned, and the sword comes and takes any one of them, that man is taken away in his iniquity, but his blood I will require at the watchman's hand." (Ezekiel 33:6; RSV, Catholic Edition).

Since the Roe vs. Wade Supreme Court Decision in 1973, abortion has taken the lives of more than 43 million babies in the United States. Many of our "watchmen"—our clergy—have been courageous in speaking out on behalf of the unborn. To the others, we again ask for your help. It is not necessary to jeopardize the tax-exempt status of your denomination by mentioning the name of any political candidate. It is essential, however, that you spread the pro-life message in your spoken words and in print.

As good shepherds, proclaiming the gospel and being fully aware of the sanctity of human life at all stages of development, you are called in obedience to preach the truth about abortion to your parishioners who long for these messages. Through your ministry, you have the opportunity to influence many to spare the lives of their unborn children who might otherwise be lost.

Let not your silence result in the loss of any of the unborn.

Sincerely,

Frank Germain
