Carlton A. Singer, Sr., 71,
Carlton A. Singer, Sr., 71, of Bradenton, FL, died Thursday, Oct. 27, 2011, at home, after a brief illness. He was born on Feb. 1, 1940 in Media, PA and had lived in Sullivan County, PA and Ocean City, NJ. Carl was predeceased by his parents, Tryon, Sr. and Grace (Abel) Singer; his brother, Tryon “Bud” Singer, Jr.; stepson, Markus Grunwaldt and wife, Sharon Amos Singer.
Mr. Singer served in the United States Air Force and was retired from the Procter & Gamble plant in Mehoopany. He had also worked as an upholsterer, operating his own business. He was a member of the Moose Club of Bradenton and past member of the Marmora, NJ Volunteer Fire Department and Dushore V.F.W.
Carl enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing darts, watching NASCAR, being near the water and spending time with his many friends and family members who will miss him deeply.
He is survived by his wife, Inge Cooper, with whom he shared nine years of marriage; his son, Carlton Singer, Jr. (Brandi) of Bradenton; his three daughters, Kimberly (Bruce) Shearer of Florida, Sandra (Dennis) Staiger of Pennsylvania and Amanda (Aaron) Durland of Pennsylvania; stepdaughter, Ilona Shephard of Canada; a son, Ronald Tope of Ohio; his sister, Sandra Rigby of Pennsylvania; and his brother, Kermit J. Singer of Florida. Carl is also survived by seven grandchildren, Anna, Benjamin, Jackson, Miles, Justin, Mindy and Farren, as well as one great-granddaughter.
Services will be private. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in Carl’s memory to Mooseheart (for children) at 155 S. International Drive, Mooseheart, IL 60539-1118.
