Clara J. “Bonie” Norton, 78
Clara J. “Bonie” Norton, 78, Lawsville, PA, passed away surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, May 19, 2011 and went to be with her Lord and husband. She was born in Montrose, July 17, 1932 to the late Myron H. and Edna (Howard) Henry. Her husband, Julius C. Norton, Sr., predeceased her.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Kimberly and Michael Kirchmeier; two sons and daughters-in-law, Julius “JR” and Shirley “Sissy” Norton, Theodore “Ted” and Kelly Norton; grandson, Dustin Norton, who shares grammy’s birthday; brothers and sisters-in-law, Donald and Betty Henry, Paul and Barb Henry, Robert and Violet Henry, Clark “Rusty” Henry; sisters and brother-in-law, Sharon and Bill Darm, Marie Whitesell, Faye Wiser; brother-in-law, Claude Gray; sister-in-law, Elaine Henry, and many nieces and nephews. She was also predeceased by her brothers and sister-in-law, Jim Henry, David and Beverly Henry, Myron "Butch" Henry, Jr. and sister, Frances Gray. Clara was a second mom to many nieces, nephews and neighborhood kids, too.
She enjoyed gardening, canning, latch hooking, going to bingo and especially watching her game shows. In the past two and one-half years while living and being cared for by her brother and sister-in-law, Bob and Violet, and her children, she enjoyed simple pleasures like watching birds in the back yard, spoiling their dog “Zack” and playing with her special great-nephew, Patrick Chillari.
A funeral service was held at 2 p.m. on Monday, May 23, at the Daniel K. Regan Funeral Home, Montrose, with Pastor Timothy Overmiller of Elisha’s Home Ministry officiating. Interment was in the Brookdale Cemetery, Liberty Twp. Visitation was from 12 until 2 p.m.
