Emma Jean Miner, 76

Emma Jean Miner, 76, of 15 Ellsworth Hill Road, Meshoppen, PA, died on Saturday morning, July 31, 2004 at Tyler Memorial Hospital, Tunkhannock, after an illness. She was the widow of Herbert B. Miner, who passed away on Dec. 3, 1991.

She was born on Russell Hill, Wyoming County, a daughter of the late Russell and Suzann Kintner Carney.

She was retired from the Tunkhannock Area School, where she worked on the cafeteria staff.

Emma was a member of the Russell Hill United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Alvin Carney.

Surviving are two sons, George of Round Lake, IL and Patrick of Lymanville; a sister, Mary E. Patrick of Tunkhannock; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held on Wednesday, Aug. 4 at 11 a.m. at the Harding-Litwin Funeral Home, 123 W. Tioga St., Tunkhannock, with services by the Rev. J. Daniel Herron of the Russell Hill United Methodist Church. Interment was in Sunnyside Cemetery, Tunkhannock.

Friends called on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
