Gene Samuel Mac Mullin, 79,
Gene Samuel Mac Mullin, 79, of Meshoppen, PA, passed away peacefully at Tyler Memorial Hospital, Tunkhannock, on Tuesday, Nov. 22, 2011. Born in Philadelphia on July 16, 1932, he was the son of the late James R. and Mable Mac Mullin.
He attended high school in Lansdowne Swathmore Area School District and went on to serve in the Navy during the Korean War from July 1955 until his honorable discharge in July 1959. He was hired by the former Reading/Conrail Railroads and retired with 40 years of service.
Gene married the late Dorothy June Meng, also in 1959, and is survived by his son, Jerry Mac Mullin, daughter-in-law Jennifer Mac Mullin and their daughter Nicole Mac Mullin of Chester County; his daughter, Cary Moran and her husband, John Moran of Luzerne County, along with his two pride and joys, his dog Hercules and his cat Thomas, who will remain with family.
He enjoyed reading, spending time with his friends, family and pets and reminiscing about his years with the railroad.
Private services have been arranged for the family.
