Harry S. VerBryck, 81,
Harry S. VerBryck, 81, of Camptown, PA passed away Monday, May 2, 2011 at the Robert Packer Hospital, Sayre. He was born in Wyalusing on Aug. 31, 1929, the son of the late Sigler and Mina Blemle VerBryck. His wife of 42 years, Marie Howell, passed away on July 20, 1995.
He worked for Tunkhannock Agway for 32 years, retiring in 1987, and held many jobs at Agway, including spreading lime. He was a graduate of Wyalusing High School. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict, serving with the U.S. Army. He retired to his family’s farm in Camptown, where he enjoyed gardening, fixing anything, especially mechanical things, and talking to friends and family. He loved to spend time with his family and took great pride in each of them.
Surviving are his children: son, Charlie S. and his wife, Nancy VerBryck of Tunkhannock; daughter, Dawn Smigo and her husband, Joseph of Kintnersville, PA; two grandchildren; Beth and Thomas Smigo; a sister, Athalie (Shorty) Jayne of Kingman, AZ; several nieces and nephews. Also surviving is Harry’s long-time friend, Lyall Brink of Camptown. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Paul and Carlton VerBryck and a sister, Shirley Elston.
Funeral services will be held at the Harding-Litwin Funeral Home, Tunkhannock, on Thursday, May 5 at noon with Pastor Lori Robinson officiating. Interment will be at the Camptown Cemetery. Friends called Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
