Hilda Baker Bennett

 

Hilda Baker Bennett went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, Aug. 2, 2011 with her loving family by her side. Born on Oct. 3, 1922 in Meshoppen Twp., she was the daughter of Francis and Eliza Brotzman Baker. Hilda was a seamstress for many years and after the factories closed, she became a cook at local restaurants.

She also enjoyed and was well known in the area for selling Stanley Home Products. She was a lifelong member of the Wyalusing American Legion Unit #534.

Survivors include her daughter, Frances Loving of Laceyville; her son, Burton Force of Lawton; 13 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; one brother, Walter Baker of Waterloo, NY; one sister, Mable Wood Lebaron of Vestal, NY and several nieces and nephews. Hilda was preceded in death by her parents, husband, four brothers, two sisters and two sons, Douglas and Tyler Force.

 Mom, Gramma, Great-Gramma, Great-Great-Gramma, and Hilda will be greatly missed by all of us. We love you and God bless you.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday Aug. 6 at 2 p.m. in the McHenry Funeral Home, 106 Church St., Wyalusing. Family and friends are invited to call from noon until the time of the service at the funeral home.
