Isaia Valoroso, 87
Isaia was born in Providence, RI on May 6, 1917, a son of the late Isaia and Maria Schiano-Lomoriello Valoroso. He served in the US Merchant Marines during WWII. He owned and operated a trucking company for many years, retiring to Wyalusing in 1986.
He was a member of St. Mary's of the Assumption Catholic Church in Wyalusing.
Surviving are his spouse, the former Rosalia Guerrera, at home; a son and daughter-in-law, Angelo and Ann Valoroso, Herrick Township; a daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Douglas Pickel, Herrick Township; sister, Maria Auxilia, Herrick Township; two grandchildren, Vincent and Stephen Valoroso and two great-grand children, Aaron and Madalyn Valoroso. He was predeceased by a brother, Angelo Valoroso of Toms River, NJ.
A funeral mass will be held on Saturday, Aug. 28 at 10 a.m. at St. Mary's Church, Wyalusing, with the Rev. Kenneth M. Seegar, his pastor, presiding.
The family will provide the flowers and asks that memorials be directed to Guthrie Hospice, RR1 Box 154, Towanda, PA 18848.
