Jean Louise McNeal Weaver, 87,
Jean Louise McNeal Weaver, 87, of 468 Hillside Drive, Towanda, PA, Wysox Twp., passed away early Tuesday morning, Oct. 25, 2011 at her home with her loving family by her side.
Born in Towanda on April 1, 1924, she was the daughter of Perley and Gertrude Rowe McNeal. She attended the Towanda schools and was employed by Sylvania Electric in Towanda during World War II. On June 21, 1947 she married Harold L. “Bud” Weaver. Jean helped operate the family dairy farm from 1967 to 1985. She was formerly employed by the J.J. Newberry Store in Towanda.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Towanda and the Critchlow Class. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, gardening, caring for her animals and flowers and playing cards.
Surviving are her children, Joseph Harold Weaver and wife, Darlene of Gainesville, GA; Joan M. Ely and husband, Robert of Sugar Run; grandchildren, Mark Powell and wife, Heather of Towanda, Thomas Powell and LaVonne Harkness of Towanda, Amy Paulhamus and husband, Todd of Pottstown, Melissa Pishock and husband, Dennis of Cumming, GA, Todd Weaver of Gainesville, GA, Nadeen Koffel and husband, Marc of Cumming, GA; great-grandchildren, Kyle, Stormy and Dakota Powell, Zachary and Aline Pishock, Cole Weaver, Brianna and Caeley Koffel, Ryan and Brooke Powell, Emily Paulhamus, Alisha Pelton, Tyler and Erica Sibley, Tony Rutty, T.J. and Jared Saunders; her sister, Eleanor Marshall of Port Charlotte, FL; many nieces, nephews and cousins and her cat, Spice.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Harold L. “Bud” Weaver on July 6, 2005 and a brother, Francis McNeal in August of 2000.
The funeral service will be held Saturday, Oct. 29 at 2 p.m. at the Maryott-Bowen Funeral Home, 217 York Ave., Towanda, with her pastor, Rev. James Hollister, officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will be in Bradford County Memorial Park, Luthers Mills.
