Kathy Ann Ricker Traver, 61,
Kathy Ann Ricker Traver, 61, of Springville, PA, died Saturday, Aug. 20, 2011 at Regional Hospital of Scranton. She was the wife of John Townsend Traver, to whom she had been married for 42 years. Born July 30, 1950 in South Williamsport, (home of Little League baseball), she was the daughter of the late Clair and Pauline Ricker. She was a graduate of South Williamsport High School, Class of 1968. After graduation, she worked briefly at Brodart Books in Williamsport as a bookkeeper. She resigned that position to marry on Feb. 15, 1969 and moved with her husband to Springville.
She and her husband were also the owners and operators of Springville Hardware from 1990 to 1995. She managed the store as her husband maintained full employment at Procter & Gamble.
Most importantly, Kathy was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. Anyone who knew her, even a short time, knew all about her husband, children and grandchildren. Whether it was showing photos or touting their accomplishments, she always made it a point to share her pride in her loved ones.
Kathy had a great passion for sports of all kinds and especially loved her Yankees, Steelers and Larry Bird. She used this love to help manage and coach her daughters’ Little League teams, as well as being treasurer of the Springville/Dimock Baseball Association.
She is survived by her husband; daughters, Jamie Paula Cole and her husband, Chris Cole of Auburn and Korie Ann Traver of Springville; three grandchildren, Jordan Alexandra Cole, Hunter Kathryn Cole and Cooper Townsend Cole, all of Auburn.
