Kristina Marie Meyer-Boatman, 44
Kristina Marie Meyer-Boatman of Eugene, OR, passed away on April 21, 2011, her 44th birthday, at Sacred Heart Medical Center Riverbend in Springfield, OR, due to complications from melanoma.
She was born on April 21, 1967, in the Bronx. She graduated from Mahopac High School in 1985, and earned a Bachelor’s Degree from the State University of New York at Albany. She was a skilled computer network engineer and a talented web designer. It was when she began working at Choice 2000 Charter School as a network engineer that she met her husband-to-be, Matt. They were married in July 2007.
Mrs. Boatman was a gentle soul, who was happiest when riding her horse, Thomas, or walking her dog, Tucker with Matt. She loved to read and to write, and she also loved biking the river path along the Willamette River. More than anything, Kris loved animals (except spiders).
She leaves behind her husband, Matthew Boatman of Eugene; her parents, Margaret and Wilfred Meyer of Mahopac, NY; her brother William; sister-in-law, Maggie, and nieces, Kathleen, Emily and Maryellen, all of Salt Point, NY. She is also survived by Matt’s parents, Bruce and Dorothy Boatman of Wyalusing, and his brothers, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her best friend Karen Jenkins in 2007, and leaves behind many dear friends around the country. She is already missed by her animal companions: Thomas, Tucker, Arnold, and Emily.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m., April 30, at the First Presbyterian Church of Mahopac. Donations may be made in Kris’s memory to the American Cancer Society.
